The colors of autumn, so warm and welcoming. This old teapot is called a "Brown Betty"; it's got a new life of service as a focal point in my vignette along with some other vintage pieces of Fiesta and McCoy. Need some cream in your tea? I love the little white stoneware 'milk jugs' as they say in England. The cute little tea ball was a gift from Deb Garage Sale gal when we met in the RW (real world!).
My mantle is loaded up with gourds and garland, soon a fire will warm the house along with a cup of tea.September, as John Denver sang, is being 'swallowed by the wind, and more than that it's oh, so sad to see the summer end.' I'm not a winter lover but this warm season has been much longer than usual this year!
'Time to jump in my buggy and go leaf looking, the colors are coming earlier this year it seems! I'll be driving the '57 Chev but this one would be fun if I was shorter.
Your Autumn vignette is lovely! I have a couple of those little white milk jugs too. My youngest grandson likes to pour his milk from them into the little tiny teacups when we have tea parties :)

I love all things Autumn ... the sights, the smells, the colors. But there is none of that here. Our daytime temps are still above 100 and oh so hot. Everything looks the same outside -- I do miss leaves that change with the season. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh, I love fall and all your pretty decorations! Happy cruisin' in your Chevy!! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteahh You've got things decorated up so nice! I like that little red shelf. Have you been to the apple orchard yet this year? For me that always seals the deal...Fall is here!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Friend,
Erica :)

Your autumn vignette is so pretty! I am loving that the trees are beginning to put on their yearly show around our parts too! That means that soon we will be heading out in the convertible to do some "leaf peeking"! Scoot over, I want to ride in that little car with you!

Love all the colors of fall, but I'm a warm weather, summer lover. Your decor is pretty, I really like the teapot!! So cute it is!! :) Have a happy Friday! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the little "radiation red" Harlequin Fiesta dish! I have both Harlequin and Riviera pieces in my collection. I love the shapes and the colors of those two lines. Fall is finally here! The church ladies are going to take a leaf peeping trip up the canyon to the Sundance Resort with lunch and a ski lift ride to the summit...sounds divine! =D
ReplyDeleteI am always sorry to see summer go, but fall is a lovely time of year, isn't it? I sure we had a fire place. =)
ReplyDeleteTammy, I loved your post about the dishes! It made me recall a time when I collected sets of dishes, my poor family never knew what they would be eating their meals off of. It became exhausting exchanging them in my cupboard! I may have to start collecting just TWO like YOU! Have a beautiful fall weekend! Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteI feel like crawling into your pictures. They are so warm and cozy. I love the vintage car. Have fun cruisin in yours this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI wish Autumn would last longer. It feels like the shortest season but is one I enjoy the most.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteWas great getting to meet you at Deb's blogger gathering yesterday. So fun to meet some fellow local bloggers in person. I look foward to more visits in the future. Would love for you to stop over at my blog for a visit when you get a chance.
Take care..
Kim
Autumn has arrived at your house! I love the shape of your pretty fall colored teapot. The shape looks like some pots I have seen made by "Hall". And the brown drip mugs look like they might have been made by "Hull". ?? Maybe not, there was probably more than one maker of the brown drip. It is certainly suited to the cozy and warm colors of fall.
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun meeting you at Deb's, and seeing your fun car, too!!
ReplyDeleteHow I'd love to hop in that Chevy and cruise down one of our tree lined back roads here in Ky and enjoy the autumn colors.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy, The link from Debs was not working, so glad to meet you I love a fellow Minnesotan! and your car.....Fabulous! Looking forward to following you!
