Harry the Hairless Horse

This is Harry, a horse like the one I got for my second birthday.  My horse had a red saddle but when you spend years looking to buy back your memories you don't get picky over a blue saddle!  Harry was made at Moulded Plastics in Maple Plain, Minnesota.  My original Harry was sold at a garage sale in 1970.  I checked frequently on line, apparently there really is some kind of horse that is 'hairless' and several times in my searches that would come up.

I can't ride Harry the Hairless Horse but this is my millinery when out in my '57 Bel Air!  I added a vintage rhinestone pin to the ribbon for fun.  No, I'm not a RED HATTER, I just like red!
Drivin' my dream.

  2. I LOVE the picture of you with your car in your RED HAT!!! AND your Little Cowboy on his pony is priceless!!! I think you should make Hairless Harry a red saddle out of felt. That way you won't be touching the original paint. LOVE HIM!!!
    Have a fun week,
    Hugs,

  5. You and that car were just made for each other!

Boy that Harry went through a lot of "Playin" to lose so much of his color, but he's still sweet.

  7. Right in Maple Plain you say? I wonder what other super cute toys they made. It's so darn cute Tammy! Yes, buying back our memories is exactly what we do! And I'm soooo thankful that we can. :)

  9. I still have my spring horse!! From 1962! I let DS ride him some when he was little, but someone gave him a fuzzy one that he liked better. I love your Harry, but your Grandson is adorable...Love that red hat! Cute!

  10. That is the sweetest little man. I think Harry the Horse has found many a same place my little memories have found. Garage Sales. My kiddos had a spring horse they rode it until it lost all its giddy up...Smiles...Renee

  11. So glad I'm not the only one who is buying back their childhood, one toy at a time! Now if I could just find a Cuddly Dudley stuffed dog like the one I had when I was little.....

  13. Your grandson is adorable and those horses are great. I have a picture of my oldest son as a little one wearing a cowboy hat that my dad gave him. So cute! I used to watch Roy Rogers reruns on Sunday mornings -- he was so handsome and I had a big time crush. :) Love your attire for sporting around in your fabulous car. Happy mid-week! Tammy

  14. You look so pretty with your red hat and yellow and white car! I could almost hear your theme song playing...lol! I tried buying back my childhood, but it just made me sad. So I am enjoying pinning my old toys on Pinterest. It's a lot less expensive! It's good to have a few things tho'. =D

  15. What a great horse. My DGS has a horse like your DGSs. My DGD HATES him and is so afraid of him. They had to hide him in the garage!

    Love the car!!!

  17. What an adorable grandson...and, what a sweet post! I remember as a child playing with a rocking horse in the church nursery. I found a hairy one recently and he is in my garage waiting for me to fix him up.
Just love your sporty wheels and red hat...Your husband really did well for your anniversary!

  18. I tell my daughter who doesn't like my "old" things that she will be looking for her own childhood when she turns 30. She won't have to look far because it's all in my basement!
Your grandson is so adorable in his cowboy hat. His hairy steed is quite handsome!
    Have a lovely weekend! Elizabeth

  20. Your '57 has a lot more horsepower than Hairless Harry. It looks like Hairless is wearing a badge. He must be a patrol horse.

  23. Love it! Riding Harry, the Hairless Horse, must have been fun for you when you were a kid. But now that you have a Chevy, you’d be going places with this beauty. See how it perfectly matches your bag and your sandals? Cute!

  24. Harry the Hairless horse was manufactured in 1949 because of Harry Truman and was red, white, and blue. I have a picture of myself on my horse in 1953.
